Secure your Passport XYZ with Civic verification stamps. Civic provides a robust way to verify your identity and protect against Sybil attacks using biometrics. Here’s how to obtain Civic verification stamps, including the CAPTCHA Pass, Uniqueness Pass, and Liveness Pass.

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A computer or smartphone with a camera and internet.

  • An Ethereum or Avalanche wallet with at least ~$0.50 worth of ETH or USDC on the network that you’re selecting

  • A account.

Networks you can use:

  • Ethereum Layer 1 (mainnet)

  • Optimism (Eth L2)

  • Avalanche (L1)

  • Arbitrum One (Eth L2)

  • Base (L2)

  • Fantom (L1)

  • Polygon zkEVM (L2)

Please note that Solana is not supported to be eligible for the Passport Stamp

Civic CAPTCHA Pass

Purpose: To confirm you are not a bot via a CAPTCHA test.

Validity: 30 days.

Fees:$0.05 USDC or Eth + network gas fees.

Steps:

  1. Choose 'CAPTCHA Verification' from the options.

  2. Press 'Connect' and select your preferred network.

  1. Connect your wallet and confirm you are not a bot.

  1. Accept the fees and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  1. Once the network confirms, your CAPTCHA Pass is active.

Civic Uniqueness Pass

Purpose: Video selfie and wallet proof to confirm individuality.

Validity: 90 days.

Fees: $0.30 USDC or Eth and network gas fees.

Steps:

  1. Select network and connect wallet (if you haven’t already connected)

  2. Select 'Uniqueness - Proof of Personhood' from the menu.

  3. Click on 'Get Pass' and note that the pass is wallet-specific.

  1. Agree to the terms by checking the boxes.

  2. Begin the verification and prove wallet ownership.

  1. Record your video selfie using a camera.

  1. Accept the fees and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  2. Your Uniqueness Pass is now active.

Civic Liveness Pass

Purpose: Video selfie to demonstrate you are a live person.

Validity: 30 days.

Fees: $0.15 USDC or Eth and network gas fees.

Steps:

  1. Choose 'Liveness Verification' from the dropdown.

  2. Press 'Get Pass' and consent to the legal terms.

  3. Proceed with verification and confirm wallet ownership.

  1. Record a successful video selfie.

  1. Approve the verification and gas fees.

  2. Finalize the transaction with your wallet.

  3. Your Liveness Pass is valid and active.
